Few characters on TV wear a coat as well as Billy Butcher. The Boys, the Prime Video series that wrapped up with its fifth and final season in 2026, gave Karl Urban's Butcher a long, dark, no-nonsense coat that matches his attitude: practical, a little beat-up, and built for trouble.
Why the look works
A long trench is one of the few pieces that works as both a costume and real outerwear. The clean button front, stand collar and long tailored cut give it a dark, military feel, and it covers everything underneath, so the outfit can stay simple.
Our fan-made version
Our Billy Butcher The Boys Black Trench Coat is an unofficial, fan-made coat inspired by that silhouette. It is made from washed cotton with a soft viscose lining, not leather, with a stand collar, a front button placket, two side pockets, and a long, tailored cut with a back yoke seam. It comes in sizes XS to 3XL and fits true to size.
How to style it
- Go all dark underneath. A black tee or dark shirt, black jeans and boots keep the focus on the coat.
- Add the attitude. Leave it open and push the sleeves up slightly for the Butcher look. A crowbar is optional and not included.
- Wear it every day. Over a hoodie or a knit, the long cut works for cold weather well beyond conventions and costume parties.
- Size up for layers. If you plan to wear thick knits underneath, go one size up.
